Henry approached me after the premiere of my saxophone concert Outer Limits as he was interested in collaborating. I was immediately excited to work with him and finished the music in time for his studio recital in March 2022. We went through several revisions until we decided on a two-movement work with contrasting styles.

After Henry premiered Hullabaloo, we added one last round of edits for future cellists and recorded it in late April 2022.
