Mostly Macabre: A Halloween Concert

During the summer of 2019, I was sadden to learn that the Jacobs School of Music would not be able to host a Halloween concert in the coming fall. It has always been my dream to run my own concert and I found my opportunity! Mostly Macabre became my project for my first semester of my sophomore year. After several months of planning and writing, I was able to host the first annual Mostly Macabre: A Halloween Concert where six Halloween-inspired pieces were premiered on October 25th, 2019. In order to spread the word about the upcoming concert, we collaborated with a local artist to create a striking poster to grab attention. It was such an amazing experience to work with these five other composers, an artist, and around 30 performers. Despite the concert being a non-Jacobs event, we had a crowd of over a hundred people!
